Skill Development trainings are aimed at imparting skills required for the growing economy. They are executed to provide employability skills for youth across the country. These programmes address the need for upgrading skills to match the industry requirements.
Various sectors for which skill development is envisaged include Retail, Garments and Textiles, ITeS/BPO, Food Processing, Medical and Nursing among others.
The Training & Consulting division partners with the Department of Employment and Training (KVET), to deliver skill enhancement programmes to candidates from various districts. The NSDC-STAR training programme is carried in partnership with the National Skill Development Corporation(NSDC), which envisages providing monetary rewards for candidates on successful completion of the skill development training programme. This in turn enhances the productivity of the trained beneficiaries and also helps in formulation of a skills registry.
Other partners include the Department of Collegiate Education, Higher Education Department of Karnataka and the Department of Rural Development and Panchayath Raj.
